“Working on Four For Four meant a lot to me as I was a college wrestler at NYU. When Patrick Hadley called me with the idea for the film, I jumped at the opportunity to film a sport I’m passionate about. I strongly hope this film will inspire traditional sports fans to fall in love with wrestling. This film puts the viewer in a unique perspective of being a member of a college wrestling team. Filming a single-camera documentary worked to my advantage as I was able to capture fleeting, intimate moments. I wanted to show the grind wrestlers endure every day. An average practice for a wrestler is essentially over-exertion, constantly testing your breaking points. Having access to Kyle Dake through his historic journey for his fourth national title was crucial to show the dedication and the true mental toughness he possesses. This film examines the rewards of extreme hard work and sacrifice which everyone can learn from, whether you’re an avid wrestling fan or looking for lessons to succeed in any industry.”
